After their 97-69 victory against the Miracle Eaglets, Nabisunsa have their biggest game week of the first round and if things go well, they could make their intentions of being in the playoffs clear.

The high school side take on the newly promoted Victoria She Crocs on Saturday 21st and the UPDF Lady Tomahawks on Sunday 22nd.

Why are these 2 fixtures very important?

Both Victoria She Crocs and UPDF are not viewed as top clubs. They are expected to be fighting for the final 2 or 3 playoff spots.

In the last 2 seasons, the UPDF Lady Tomahawks have finished as the number 8 seed. This means that they can easily be knocked off that spot if they are not careful.

At the moment, UPDF has 1-2 record having their season opener against the Magic Stormers but registered back-to-back defeats against the Miracle Eaglets and the Victoria She Crocs.

Victoria on the other hand has a 2-1 record having defeated the Miracle Eaglets and UPDF but fell to the JT Lady Jaguars.

If you are Nabisunsa and want to make it to the playoffs, these are games that you want to win now. When you bag enough victories in the first round, it becomes easier for you as the season winds down.

The one thing about Nabisunsa currently is the fact that they have 5 solid players who have been distributing the load among themselves.

In their last game, 5 players scored double digits while 3 of those scored 20+ points. When you have players that can explode like that, you will cause your opponents so many problems.

In the 3 games so far, these are Nabisunsa’s top performers.

Auma Joy 16 points, 10.3 rebounds, 5 assists, 4 steals and 2 blocks

Melissa Kisakye 11 points, 2.67 rebounds, and 2.3 assists

Mpoza Abigail 18.67 points, 6.67 rebounds, 3.67 assists, 3 steals and 2 blocks

Martha Yikiru 10 points, 6.3 rebounds, 3 assists, 1.67 steals

Abifaith Musiimenta 10.3 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 1.67 assists

There are 2 very important things to note ahead of these games. Nabisunsa has scored an average of 70 points, which is 20 points more than Victoria and 15 points more than UPDF Lady Tomahawks.

Defensivley, Nabisunsa has conceded an average of 71 points which is 22.6 points than Victoria and 15.6 more than the UPDF Tomahawks.

This indicates that Nabisunsa’s offense is better than the 2 teams but their defense is the worst of the 3. If they are to get anything in this game, they need to tighten up their defense.

The good thing for them is that Victoria and UPDF have yet to explode offensively. The highest points these teams have scored is 65 points and if Nabisunsa can be able to choke them om defense, their offense is good enough to score 65 or even 70.
