The 2026 NBL has had 36 games played so far but we haven’t had many exciting ties.

However, we have witnessed a number of bad games some being poor performances from both teams others one team being so much better the the other.

In this article, Avitus Ngabirano shall break down some of the worst games that we have seen this season so far.

JT Lady Jaguars vs KCCA Leopards

This was one of the most anticipated games of the season but turned out to be among the most boring.

The Lady Jaguars won the game 47-28 but the fact that both teams couldn’t combine for a total of 80 points is worrying.

It is very difficult to say that the Lady Jaguars played well despite a 19-point victory because nothing in that performance suggests that they are title contenders.

However, they faced a very poor KCCA Leopards who could barely penetrate the interior or even shoot the basketball.

Neither team delivered in this game and that was very disappointing.

Since the KCCA Leopards were very poor, I’ll baptize them as “the class of 28”.

Miracle Eaglets vs Angels

This has to be the game with the most turnovers this season as both teams combined for 68 turnovers.

The most annoying thing is not that the turnovers came from good defense but rather travel violations, and bad passes.

At this level, you would expect teams and players to do better than that.

To make matters worse, this game was prolonged due to some technical issues with the game clock.

So imagine sitting through more than two and half hours of a game where after almost very 30 seconds, there is a turnover.

The game was also full of fouls. There was a total of 61 attempted free throws.

In short, no basketball was played. It was always travel, foul, free throws.

JT Lady Jaguars vs Pearl Queens

This was the opening game of the season and it ended 74-29.

Some people thought that maybe Pearl Queens were going to put up a fight but they didn’t.

It was one team running the show and we can’t say that this is a peak performance by the Lady Jaguars.

This was like an elder sibling disciplining their young one.

After the first 2 quarters, Pearl Queens had only 15 points. At that point, they had lost the crowd.

In subsequent games though, Pearl Queens have played better.

Kampala Rockets vs JKL Dolphins

This was one of those boring games that you wouldn’t want to watch.

Despite Toussaint Mampuya coming alive in the second half and pulling off some incredible moves, the crowd had already been lost.

There was no much life in this game and the few things we remember is Soro’s reactions after some shots.

Many described this game as a ‘business game’.  If you know you know.

Victoria She Crocs vs Miracle Eaglets

Whoever scheduled this game on a Saturday at 10 am had seen the future.

After the first quarter, Miracle Eaglets had scored just 1 point while Victoria had 6.

The game ended 45-34 and to be honest, there was nothing interesting in this game.

City Oilers vs Kampala Rockets

There was no contest whatsoever as the City Oilers won thr game 80-43.

It was as though only one team was playing.

It is hard to make a list of games that have been interesting but the one that should be top of that list is the game between the Rezlife Saints and UMU Flames.

It had so much tension, ejections, it was close and exciting till the final minutes.
