In the 2026 NBL, we have seen surprises but some things are beyond our wildest imaginations. To be honest, the things we have seen in less than 50 games played tell us how poor our league is.

The wildest statistic we have seen this season is the 0 points scored by Pearl Queens in the first quarter. They were scoreless for almost 11 minutes but surprising managed to win the game 43-41.

From this, we shall highlight some of the worst performances by teams in a quarter this season.

Pearl Queens vs Magic Stormers

This obviously tops the list because not in the wildest dreams would a person think that a team with such talent would fail to score a point in an entire first quarter.  To make this look worse, Pearl Queens went to the free throw line but failed to convert. The players were just running around.

Miracle Eaglets vs Victoria She Crocs

In the first quarter of this game, the Miracle Eaglets scored just 1 point. In addition, Victoria did not do well as they had just 6 points. In that first quarter, there were 17 turnovers.

Angels vs KIU Rangers

The ending of this game was very interesting but the start by Angels was worrisome. They scored just 2 points in the first quarter and missed multiple easy opportunities. They missed all their 6 free throw attempts in that quarter.

KCCA Leopards vs UCU Lady Canons

This was such a high profile game but it was disappointing. In the third quarter, there was a total of 13 point scored. KCCA had 5 while UCU had 8. To be honest, the players were mostly just running around but when it came to execution, they were not sharp.

Pearl Queens vs UPDF Lady Tomahawks

Both teams were very poor offensively in this game as it ended 41-31 but Pearl Queens had no offensive spark whatsoever. In the second quarter, they scored just 2 points that came in the first minute of the quarter.

The situation became worse in the fourth quarter. Pearl Queens was scoreless for more than 12 minutes from the end of the third quarter towards the end of the fourth. Fildauce Namulema was fouled and she scored one of her 2 free throw attempts. After that, UPDF recklessly turned the ball over and that is when Fildauce scored a 3-pointer to make it 4 points in the quarter.

JT Lady Jaguars vs KCCA Leopards

This game was generally bad from start to end. The Leopards scored less than 10 points in three of the four quarters. They lacked sharpness, precision and confidence. To be honest, that game deserved not to be watched.

Pearl Queens vs JT Lady Jaguars

In all the four quarters, at no point did Pearl Queens score than 10 points. Given that this was the opening game of the season, it was very disappointing to watch.
