The Victoria Crocs defeated the UMU Flames 57-75 on Wednesday 4th March to make it 3 consecutive wins.
This was a very big win for the Victoria Crocs and they were in control from start to the end.
The last time these 2 teams had met was in the 2024 Division One semi-finals which the Crocs won in a 3-0 sweep. UMU Flames were on a quest to find revenge but it wasn’t going to be an easy task.
Straight from the first quarter, the UMU Flames were open on defense and the Victoria Crocs easily found space through. They kept running transition on them and as a result, the Crocs led the game 18-12 after the first quarter.
The situation became worse in the second quarter. Victoria kept scoring in transition and the UMU Flames defense could not recover in time to set.
Mark Ngobi feasted as he scored 10 points in the second quarter alone. Cedric Alema also managed to score some easy baskets at the rim and by halftime, the Victoria Crocs led the game 40-27.
The UMU Flame scored 3 huge 3-point shots in the third quarter and 18 points, same as the Crocs, in order to stay in the game. Heading into the fourth, Victoria still led by 13 points and the goal was to see out the game.
Chuol Nyuot happened in the fourth quarter. He scored the first 11 points of the fourth quarter and went on to score 15 points in the quarter.
The Crocs kept utilizing the transition basketball and UMU Flames had no answers.
Victoria Crocs scored 52 of their 75 points in the paint. This highlights how they managed to make the high percentage attempts and they managed to bury most of them.
