The Victoria Crocs who have won 3 games in a row will be taking on Sommet on Friday 6th at the Lugogo indoor Arena.

This is a very big game because both teams are evenly matched and bagging such wins early in the season can come in handy as the season concludes.

In the 2025 NBL season, Victoria Crocs missed the playoffs despite having the same record as the number 6 seed. When they faced Sommet in the second round that year, they led the game 41-31 at halftime but lost 75-72 in the end. That was one of the painful defeats and they will be looking to correct what did not go right in that game.

Form

Victoria started the season with a big 83-62 win against the Kampala Rockets. They then fell to the Rezlife Saints 59-75. However, since then, they have won 3 games in a row averaging 12+ points winning margin.

On the other hand, Sommet won their first 2 games of the season but went on to lose the next 2. They then returned to winning ways after defeating the UPDF Tomahawks 73-62.

Strategy

The Victoria Crocs have been employing transition basketball in most of their games. It worked very well for them against the Kampala Rockets and it was on full display against the UMU Flames. Mark Ngobi, Cedric Alema and Aaron Eboyu are all very big threats and Sommet has to find ways of slowing them down.

Chuol Nyuot has also been a very big menace in the paint for the opponents. In the last game, he made 3 big dunks and scored 10 of his 14 2-point shot attempts.

Sommet have had multiple players step up for them. However, they still have the point guard conundrum. Emilagba has had some good moments but he was on the bench the entire game in the loss to the UCU Canons.

Andrew Ssendawula has had his fair share of minutes but in the last game, he played just 8 minutes. We saw Mathew Kisakye and Brighton Galiwango get extended minutes in the back court roles.

With Sommet, it has very many players who can be lethal but it is hard to pinpoint one who will stand out except Peter Cheng. The last time he faced the Victoria Crocs, he registered 21 points and 10 rebounds. On would hope that he can replicate that kind of performance.

One other player who could explode for Sommet is Nkulu Kaseya. He has missed a lot of lay ups but one thing we have seen is that he has instinct and can get multiple steals. In a open court, he could thrive and explode.

The two teams face off on Friday 6th March at the Lugogo Indoor Arena.

Sommet look to make it 3 consecutive wins against Victoria Crocs. On the other hand, the Victoria Crocs look to make it 4 consecutive wins.
