The UCU Lady Canons returned to winning ways on Wednesday 1st April after defeating Nabisunsa 80-46 at Lugogo.

Coming into this game, the Lady Canons had fallen to the JT Lady Jaguars in their previous game and needed to make a statement.

Surprisingly though, UCU did not field some of their top players, Martina Anyango and Shillah Lamunu. Nonetheless, the squad that was fielded was able to get the job done.

The Lady Canons led the game 28-8 after the first quarter and from there onwards, the eventual outcome was expected.

UCU’s offense dropped significantly from 28 points in the first period to just 12 in the second but they led the game 40-19 at the halftime break.

The third quarter offense was similar to the first. The Lady Canons scored 26 points and took a 32-point lead heading into the final quarter.

They managed to see out the game in the fourth quarter and won it 80-46.
