The UPDF Lady Tomahawks completed the double over the defending champions, the JKL Lady Dolphins, after defeating them, 62-45 at the Rezlife Park in Lubowa on Saturday 9th May.

When the two sides met in round one, JKL had just 6 players available and the army side took advantage to register a 72-55 win against the defending champion, their first against them.

In this second round, JKL came into the game after winning back-to-back games, against the Victoria She Crocs and the Miracle Eaglets. There was a lot of confidence in them following the wins and they were boosted by the availability of some key players. High School students, Shiphrah Kiranda, Melissa Taliba and Aminat Josephine were all available after their participation in the 2026 USSSA Games at Seroma Christian School.

However, despite having more numbers compared to those available when the two sides met in round one, the UPDF Lady Tomahawks meant business. They established themselves from the get go and took the lead, 21-11, after the first quarter. In the second, they still had an edge and extended their lead to 39-22, at the halftime break.

At this point, it was going to be very hard to see the Lady Dolphins make a comeback. UPDF also took the third quarter to make it a 20-point game at the end of the third quarter and they managed to see out the game in the fourth.

UPDF managed to protect their paint very well. JKL attempted more from the 3-point line (37 attempts) than the inside of the arc (31). Their conversion rate was also heavily lacking. Of their 37 3-point attempts, the Lady Dolphins scored just 4. To make matters worse, their conversion on the free throw line was also poor. They scored just 9 of their 19 free throw attempts.
