As we enter the final 2 game weeks of the 2026 NBL regular season, a lot of teams are still looking to secure their playoff spots.

Currently, 7 teams have clinched a place in the playoffs but the final seeding is what is at stake the most.

The top 3 positions are occupied by the Namuwongo Blazers, City Oilers and the Rezlife Saints and as things look, that could be the order in which the teams will finish after thr regular season.

The final 4 teams include the JKL Dolphins, Kampala Rockets, UMU Flames and UPDF Tomahawks.

Kampala Rockets has already been relegated but the other 3 teams are still in a battle to see who survives.

In the number 8 place is the JT Jaguars and they can not climb up. Whoever, they can still fall to the bottom four although it is highly unlikely.

This leaves us with 4 teams; KCCA Panthers, Victoria Crocs, UCU Canons and Sommet. All these 4 are in a scramble to see who finishes in a favorable playoffs positions.

UCU Canons

The Canons have had a good second round and are currently with a 12-8 record.

They are on course to finishing as the number 4 seed but they still have work to do. If they can win their remaining 2 games, the number 4 seed will be sealed.

UCU face the UPDF Tomahawks, a side that defeated them in round one and the Namuwongo Blazers in their final game of the regular season.

KCCA Panthers

The KCCA Panthers had a spectacular first round with a 7-4 record. However, the second round has not been great as they have lost 6 games including 3 of their last 5.

The most consequential losses were the back-to-back defeats against the Victoria Crocs and Sommet, sides which they are fighting with in the battle for placements.

They have an 11-10 record and face the Rezlife Saints in their final game of the season.

If they can win this game, they can potentially finish as the number 5 seed if UCU and Sommet lose their 2 games.

Additionally, Victoria Crocs would also have to lose atleast 2 of their remaining 3 games.

Victoria Crocs

The Crocs have won all their last 4 games and are on a roll. They currently have a 9-10 record and can move up to the number 4 seed.

They face the Namuwongo Blazers, JT Jaguars and the UPDF Tomhawks in their final games of the regular season.

If they win all their remaining 3 games and UCU lose their remaining games, Victoria will finish as the number 5 seed.

If they are tied with KCCA Panthers, they are above them since they won the tiebreaker. In case they are tied with Sommet, they also will finish above them.

The games of the JT Jaguars and UPDF will be very significant byt as things stand, the Crocs are on course to finishing as the number 5 seed and potentially face the UCU Canons in the quarter-finals.

Sommet

After a wonderful second round and playoffs  performance in the 2025 season, a lot was expected of Sommet. However, they haven’t performance as per expectations and it was not a surprise when their international signings from the fiest round were let go of and the coaching staff.

Sommet currently has an 11-9 record and will most likely finish 5 or 6. They face the City Oilers and the UMU Flames in their final games of the regular season.

If they win both their remaining games and UCU lose theirs, UCU goes above them. If they win just 1 game, they go above KCCA. 

The final 2 game weeks will be dramatic and some teams still have their fate in their hands. A team can decide were they want to finish and choose a path that would be favorable for them since the order of the top 3 is pretty much known.
