The 2026 NBL women’s quarterfinals are way behind us and unsurprisingly, the top 4 teams from the regular season all advanced. The top 3 teams, the JT Lady Jaguars, UCU Lady Canons and the KCCA Leopards all advanced courtesy of sweeps while the Magic Stormers, Pearl Queens tie was decided in game 3.

During that stage, there were a lot of great individual performances and in this article, we shall try to highlight a couple.

Angellah Zainah Lokwameri vs UPDF Lady Tomahawks Game One

Having barely played in the regular season, many people doubted Zainah’s fitness but once again, she shut the doubters up. She delivered a ‘mature’ performance to help the KCCA Leopards secure a 60-43 victory against the Lady Tomahawks who had been very stubborn.

She had 16 points (6 from the free throw line) plus 5 rebounds, 2 assists and 3 steals. Most importantly, she had the highest +/- in the game with 26.

Tamasha Nsubuga vs JT Lady Jaguars Game One

Coming into this game, everyone knew that the JT Lady Jaguars would get a win but it did not come as easily as expected. The reason for that was Tamasha Nsubuga, who played the entire 40 minutes and caused the Lady Jaguars lots of problems.

She scored a game-high 24 points with 10/17 from the field and she had an additional 4 rebounds and 4 steals. Tamasha left everything on the floor but the Lady Jaguars were too strong for them.

Akello Scovia vs Magic Stormers Game Two

While facing elimination, the Pearl Queens needed someone to step up and Akello Scovia rose to the occasion. She delivered 16 points, 7/13 from the field plus 8 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal and 3 blocks. She also had the highest +/- in the game as the pearl Queens secured a 54-41 victory to force a game 3.

Zoe Atek vs KIU Rangers Game Two

Atek had perhaps the best individual performance in the quarterfinals as she registered her first career triple double. She finished the game with game-high 19 points (7/14, 50% FG) 10 rebounds, 10 assists, 6 steals and 1 block.

This stat line is insane but it would have been even better barring the numerous opportunities the Lady Canons missed at the rim. It is very hard to remember the last time a player registered a triple double in the playoffs.

Mary Priscillar Nambogo vs JKL Lady Dolphins Game Two

Nambogo has been one of the most consistent performers throughout the season. In game 2, she delivered 23 points, knocking down 5 shots from the 3-point line.

Sarah Ageno vs s JKL Lady Dolphins Game Two

In the absence of Mercy Batamuliza, the role of Sarah Ageno has increased and she put up a great shift in games one and two. Particularly in game 2, she was key both offensively and defensively. Ageno registered a double-double with 13 points, 12 rebound and 2 steals.

Tracy Namugosa vs UPDF Lady Tomahawks Game Two

Namugosa has been the difference for the KCCA Leopards in very many games throughout the same and she once again showed why she is paid the big bucks. After UPDF taking the first quarter, the leopards, led by Namugosa, woke up in the second quarter.

She finished the game with 27 points (playoffs high so far) and was efficient from the field converting 9 of the 20 attempts. Additionally, she had 4 assists, 2 steals and 2 rebounds and a +/- of 36 (highest in the game).

Eve Grace Namuli vs Pearl Queens Game Three

When you talk about top performers, there are usually names that sound like they are lost and Eve Grace Namuli’s is one of those. Despite looking lazy, due to her skinny nature, Namuli has had a couple of incredible performance and game 3 was he moment.

She was active on both ends of the floor and delivered and stellar performance. Namuli registered a double-double of 15 points, 13 rebounds, 5 assists, 5 steals and 2 blocks as the Magic Stormers defeated Pearl Queens 65-54 to advance to the semi-finals.

We now look forward to the semifinals were the JT Lady jaguars shall face the Magic Stormers in a repeat of the 2025 semi-finals while the UCU Lady Canons shall take on the KCCA leopards.
