The Nkumba Lady marines and Seeta High will be facing each other in the quarterfinals of the 2026 FUBA Division One playoffs. This game will be tough for both sides because the number 3 seed is facing one of the most in form teams at the moment.

What is at stake

The Nkumba Lady Marines got relegated from the NBL in the 2025 season. They are looking to once again earn promotion to the top flight. Seeta High has been on the come up in recent years. They made key additions in the second round and they will be looking to win the quarterfinals series and make their maiden semifinals appearance.

Season record

During the regular season, the Nkumba Lady Marines finished with a 15-7 record. They lost 4 games in the first round and 3 I the second. Seeta High finished with a 12-10 record. However, they won 9 of their 11 games in the second round. They have also won their last 5 games.

When the 2 teams met in during the regular season, the Nkumba Lady Marines won both encounters. They won game one 43-32 and game two 48-45. In game one, both Nkumba and Seeta had 0 bench points and this was a source of concern. However, Melinda Laker, Manuela Joseph and Ssemgendo Mary combined for 37 points for Nkumba.

In game two, Ssengendo and Manuela both came off the bench and delivered a combined 26 points. Seeta only had 1 bench point although Achomo Lucky, Kristine Stephanie and Moureen Lamwaka combined for 38 points.

Players to watch

Mary Hazel Ssengendo has not been in action for a while but when she has been on the floor, she is perhaps the most dangerous player for Nkumba. Mellisa Kyazze Namboowa is a veteran in this Nkumba side and she leads by example with her performances. Expect her to get off a couple of shots.

Seeta High’s mid-season signings Kristine Stephanie and Bilha Akinyi are their key players. The 2 have been big additions more so offensively and Nkumba will have to find ways of neutralizing them.
