Seeta High got their fifth victory of the season after their shock 49-47 victory against “contenders” Our Savior Banyabo.

The Banyabo came into the game on the back of a 30-point victory against Watoto and their confidence was very high that they’d get the job done.

On the other hand, Seeta came into the game as the heavy underdog but given the way they have been playing in round two, the team hoped to get some positive results.

The first quarter was a tightly contested and it ended in a 17 all stalemate.

Our Savior made 5 3-point shots in that time and just one from inside the arc.

On the other hand, Seeta was making their presence in the interior felt as they made 6/10 from inside the arc in that time.

The 3-pointers dried up for Our savior in the second quarter as they made only one while Seeta kept going to work in the paint and at half time, the high schoolers had the lead 29-23.

Our Savior made just 2 field goals in the second quarter and they scored just 2 points in the first 9 minutes of the quarter.

The Banyabo tried to come back in the game but Seeta was always keeping them at bay. For a spell during the third period, Seeta made a 10-2 run to take their lead to double digits.

Patricia Namugambe turned up for Our savior as she scored 11 of their 15 points in the fourth quarter including 9 consecutive points.

Our savior had managed to comeback in the game and it was tied with less than 10 seconds left.

Banyabo had the possession with a chance to win it but Phiona Apio made a turnover which gave Seeta an opportunity with 5 seconds left.

Joan Lakareber when for the 3-point shot and missed but Ator Jok collected the offensive rebound and won the game for Seeta with a layup at the death.

The following day, Seeta was unable to make it back to back win as they fell short against Kibuli S.S, 36-39.

Point Guard Lillian Nalugya made a double-double 15 points and 10 rebounds while Ator Jok (12) and Wangen Jock (14) once again picked double-digit rebounds.

Our Savior bounced back the next day to register a 32-27 victory against Buddo Mystics in another very low scoring game.

What do these results mean?

With 5 wins under their belt, Seeta have an opportunity of making the playoffs if they can secure 3 more wins.

For Our savior, it means they still have a lot of work to do.

Last year, they were among the favorites to qualify to the NBL but were eliminated by Legends in the quarter-finals.

A lot of teams have improved massively and as the regular season winds down, a team needs to be playing at a higher level which Our savior is not doing and it should be a source of concern for them.
