The Nkumba Marines continued to run riot, extending their winning streak to 12 after their 71-60 victory against Miracle Eagles on Sunday 10th November.

Miracle Eagles came into this game on the back of a 73-64 loss to Sommet and their aim to return to winning ways.

The confidence was high in the team because they had already taken down a giant, in Victoria, who had been on a 9-game winning streak, but unfortunately for them, Nkumba Marines had other plans.

The Marines started the game with a 10-0 run in the first 2:30 minutes but Miracle Eagles managed to recover and the first quarter ended 17-11, the Marines with the lead.

Nkumba Marines did not score a point in the first 5 minutes of the second quarter and Miracle Eagles capitalized and took the lead.

However, Nkumba closed the quarter with a 6-0 run to trail 28-29 at halftime.

The Marines returned to the third quarter in beast mode.

They scored 28 points, which was the same number they did the entire first half, and they took a 14-point lead.

The Eagles were trying to reduce on that deficit in the fourth quarter but every time they came close, Nkumba responded, keeping them at arms length and they eventually saw off the game 71-60.

Depending on the results of Entebbe Knight Riders, they could move to 8th place but it looks highly unlikely.

They will be facing UPDF Tomahawks in the quarter-finals but before that, both teams will face off in the second round on 16th November in Entebbe.
