Entebbe Knight Riders fell to Sommet 71:84 in a game that would have put one of the feet into the playoffs.

Riders, who now have a 14-14 record, came into the game with a mission to secure a victory and improve their chances of making the playoffs to about 80%, and for a moment, they looked like they would complete the mission.

Knight Riders led 22-18 after the first quarter but things fell part in the second quarter.

Sommet scored 12 of their 14 attempts in the second quarter, and they had a total of 29 points, while Riders scored 15.

Sommet made sure to punish Knight Riders every time they made a turnover.

They scored 12 points from turnovers in the second quarter alone.

Sommet also scored most of their points in transition which Knight Riders failed to find a solution for and at halftime, Sommet led the game 47-37.

Sommet extended their lead to 17 in third quarter but Riders managed to cut it to 10 to stay in the game with one quarter left.

On 2 different occasions in the fourth quarter, Knight almost made a comeback.

With less than 5 minutes left in the game, Sommet led by 18 points but Knight Riders made a 9-0 run in the next 2 minutes to make it a 9-point game.

Sommet replied with a 6-0 run but Knight Riders still had hope and they made a 7-0 run in one minute to make it an 8-point game with 37 seconds left but time ran out and Sommet won the game.

They face Knight Riders on Sunday 17th and their game against UPDF Tomahawks is yet to be rescheduled.

Entebbe Knight Riders has a 14-14 record and still has a big chance of making it into the playoffs.

They take on Entebbe Archers on Saturday 16th and UPDF on Sunday. 

If they win both their games, they will seal their place in the playoffs.

If they lose all their game and Tropical Royals also lose their game, Knight Riders will make the playoffs.

If they win just one of their games, Tropical Royals win their game, and Miracle Eagles lose, the 3 teams will be tied at 15 wins, and the points difference will decide which 2 teams make it.
