The Namuwongo Blazers handed Victoria University a thorough beating, 99-63, to go 2-0 in the season.

The Blazers, who won their opener against City Oilers courtesy of a free throw with 1 second to go, came into this game seeking to play ‘better’ and to show who they are.

On the other hand, newcomers Victoria University sought to make it back-to-back win but it was always going to be a very difficult game against title favorites.

From the get-go, the Namuwongo Blazers were ahead and they led the game 24-15 after the first quarter.

They scored 11/23 from the field including 4 3-point shots made.

At the halftime break, Namuwongo led the game 45-29 and it looked like it was mission impossible for Victoria to come back in this game.

The torture continued in the fourth quarter, and with the final 10 minutes left, Namuwongo was very much in control with a comfortable 24-point lead.

As if they weren’t done, in the fourth, they completely blew out Victoria.

They scored all on their first 6 possessions in the fourth quarter.  On those possessions, 5 of their baskets were 3-point shots and they made it a 35-point game.

The Blazers scored 13/16 attempts in the fourth quarter.

In their 8 attempts from the 3-point line, they missed just 1 and with this level of efficiency, Victoria couldn’t match.
