The UPDF Lady Tomahawks defeated the Nkumba Lady Marines to go 2-0 in the season but the difference in this game was Nasiimu Mutesi.
Mutesi missed the Lady Tomahawks season opener against Angels but she had an immediate impact in her first season outing.
She came off the bench and scored 20 points plus 17 rebounds to cap what was an impeccable performance.

UPDF came into this game oozing with confidence and to achieve their top 6 goal, this is a game they knew they had to win.
For Nkumba, it was a humiliating loss against KCCA in their season opener and this was an opportunity for them to bounce back.
The Lady Tomahawks led the first quarter 20-18 but in the subsequent quarters, both teams’ offense slowed down.
Nkumba scored a total of 17 points in the second and third quarters combined and by that time, UPDF had amassed a 13-point lead.
The Lady Marines thought they had a chance in the final quarter but the army ladies made an 11-0 run to extend their lead to 17 and ultimately finish the game off.
