The UPDF Lady Tomahawks registered a record 88 rebounds as they defeated Nabisunsa 90-58 to return to winning ways on Sunday, 13th April.
Ahead of this game, UPDF had been on a 2-game losing streak and they wanted to return to aiming ways.
Nabisunsa had won their previous game against Angels and looked to build on that to better their record.
Nabisunsa led the game 16-15 after the first quarter and it was looking like a very feisty game.
Christine Namyalo scored 11 of the 16 points for UPDF and she was the person trying to make things happen.
In the second quarter, the game was still very close, 34-33, with the Lady Tomahawks in the lead.
Mpoza Abigail was causing all sorts of problems for UPDF as she scored 13 points in the first quarter.
After her wonderful first quarter, Namyalo scored just 2 points in the second period.
In the second half, problems started to arise for Nabisunsa more so in rebounds.
Nabisunsa registered just 6 rebounds in the third quarter while UPDF had 24, 14 of which were offensive rebounds.
The army side scored 10 second chance points plus 9 of 13 free throws.
As a result, the game heavily shifted in favor of UPDF who now led the game 59-45 with the fourth quarter left.
The Lady Tomahawks once again out-worked the high-school side on the glass with 17-10 rebounds.
They scored a couple of second-chance points but most of their points came through transition and they ended up with an ‘easy’ 90-58 victory.
