The UPDF Lady Tomahawks defeated Angels 58-46 on Sunday 1st to increase their chances of securing a playoff spot.

This was a highly consequential game and the winner in this would have put themselves in a prime position to secure the number eight slot.

However, as from our article a few days ago, UPDF was a superior team statistically compared to the Angels.

Having defeated them also in round one, Angels had a huge tasks on their hands.

The first half was a testament of where both teams are at the moment.

UPDF outscored Angels 33-18 and in this position, losing the game was going to be quite hard.

Angels scored only 6 field goals in the entire half and their field goal efficiency was also worrying, 6/27, 22%.

To make matters worse, they had 15 turnovers in the first half and at this rate, if they were to win the game, a lot had to change.

Unfortunately for them, the turnover situation did not get better but rather worse.

Angels made 12 turnovers in the third quarter and while their scoring efficiency improved, the Lady Tomahawks increased their lead to 18.

The fourth quarter started so slow offensively with a total of 2 points scored in the first 3 minutes.

Angels scored a couple of baskets but it was too late and UPDF won the game 58-46.

This result is very for UPDF because it puts them ahead of Angels and also gave them the the breaker.

Angels will now need to register about 4 more wins if they are to have a chance of making the playoffs.
