The UCU Lady Canons advanced to the semifinals of the 2024 National Basketball League after defeating the Magic Stormers 58:68 in game 2 to complete the sweep.
The Stormers came into the game with a mission to win and force game 3 but their opponents, the Lady Canons had the better start to the game.
After the first quarter, the Lady Canons led 18:15 and in the second, they increased their superiority, won it 23-12 and took a 14-point lead into the halftime break.
Just like in their previous 2 meetings, the Magic Stormers turned up their defense in the third quarter. They made a 7:0 run and the Lady Canons Coach Nick quickly called a timeout.
The Lady Canons did not score a point for the first 5:30 minutes in the quarter and in that time, they registered 9 turnovers.
However, they regrouped and got themselves back on track and they also managed to limit the Magic Stormers from scoring.
The Magic Stormers started the fourth quarter strongly as they scored 7 unanswered points to bring the game within 6 points.
A lot of errors and missed opportunities then ensued as neither team scored for over 2 minutes but in the end, the Lady Canons managed to squeeze pass the Stormers and secure the victory.

Matrina Anyango had a very big impact of the bench. She scored 7 points, picked 9 rebounds, a steal, block and an assist in the 18 minutes that she played.
Millicent Otieno also knocked down 3 big 3-point shots that helped the Lady Canons significantly.
The UCU Lady Canons will take on the KIU Rangers in the semifinals.
