The Women’s National Basketball team, the Gazelles, will play a scrimmage against the Westmont Warriors Basketball team on Thursday, 8th August 2024, at the Lugogo Indoor Arena, with tip-off set for 4 pm.
This is the first time that the ladies shall be in action since their 10-day trip in Frankfurt, Germany, in July where they played 2 friendly games against the Republic of Ireland and won 82:69 and 71:56, respectively.
The Gazelles last played a game at Lugogo on 28 July 2023 and it was a practice game against Team Select. Seeing the team play at home again is something the fans have been craving and it promises to be an electric atmosphere.

The Westmont Warriors, who are from Westmont College, a private Christian liberal arts college based in Montecito, California, USA, will be facing the Gazelles for a second time since 2015, a meeting Uganda won 50-56 at Lugogo.
Uganda will be led by Captain Jane Asinde and her assistant Hope Akello, and Coaches Nick Natuhereza and Julius Lutwama shall be calling the shots on the sideline.
Entrance to the game will be free of charge.
