The team to represent Uganda at the 2024 Safari 7s in Machakos has been named and a lot of youngsters will make their debut sevens debut for the Rugby Cranes.
Among these include, Patrick Okello who was a very important piece for the Platinum Credit Heathens as they won the 2024 Nile Special Sevens after an 11-year wait.
Toyota Buffaloes duo Daniel Otim and Humphrey Ndahura who were very key in helping the Toyota Buffaloes finish 3rd overall in the National 7s.
Jinja Hippos Andrew Odhiambo and Kobs Julius Opio will also get their first outing in the Black, Yellow, Red.
Walukuba Barbarians fly half Gift Wokorach who has been in the set up will get his opportunity while his teammate who trained with the 15’s team, Edward Emiemu shall also represent.
Rhinos winger Arnold Ocen represented in the 15’s during the Rugby Africa Cup and he scored a try on his debut but he will be making his sevens debut this weekend.
The team will be Captained by Karim Arinaitwe, who has been in the setup the longest and even played at the World Cup.
The other players all just recently made their debut during the Willem Strauss 7s in South Africa in September and these include, Malcolm Okello, Robin Odrua and Mark William Lukwago.

Uganda is in Pool B with Kenya Morans, Kenya Harlequins, Shogun and Redwailers.
The Men shall take on Kenya Harlequins on Friday in their opener.
