The 2024 FUBA Division One for the Men has been very competitive so far, but a couple of teams have stood out, securing their playoff positions early enough.

After winning their appeal, Rezlife Saints (20-2) has qualified for the playoffs and are in pole position to secure the number one seed.

They have lost just 2 games and with the momentum they had built, it’s hard to see them lose more than 5 games in their remaining 9 games.

The Saints still have to play for the number one seed and they still have games against big games against Victoria University and UMU Flames.

The UPDF Tomahawks have won their last 3 games and had lost 3 consecutive games before that but they have already confirmed their place in the final 8.

They have a 19-7 record but their 3 (UMU Flames, Sommet and Nkumba) of their final 4 games are against teams in the top 6.

In round 2 so far, they have lost all their 2 games against the other top 6 teams and the outcomes of those 3 fixtures will be crucial in the final seeding.

Victoria University started the second round on a roll, winning 9 consecutive games before being stopped by Miracle Eagles.

They have a 19-6 record and in their final 5 games, they play 3 of the teams in the top 6 (Sommet, Rezlife Saints, and Nkumba).

The university side has already secured a place in the playoffs, but the final seeding and form coming into the playoffs will be crucial for them.

Despite losing their last 6 games including a walkover against Tropical Royals, UMU Flames have already secured a place in the final 8 unless they give away more walkovers.

The Nkozi-based side had the second-best record (12-3) in the first round, and they started the second with 5 consecutive wins, which put them in a very comfortable position.

They now have a 16-10 record and a single victory in their remaining 4 games will secure their position in the top 8 teams.

Sommet have lost just one game in the second round and they have a big chance of finishing in the top 3 spots.

They boast of a 19-4 and in their final 7 games, they face 2 of the top 6 teams (Victoria University and UPDF).

They also face Miracle Eagles, Entebbe Knight Riders, and Tropical Royals, who are fighting to get into the playoffs.

Nkumba Marines is the only team that had won less than 10 games (8-7) among the top 6 after the first round.

However, their second-round form has been nothing short of impeccable and after losing to Sommet in the second-round opener, they went on to win 10 consecutive games.

Nkumba have built around youngsters Moses Mandiria who has taken the league by storm, Highman Ssemakula, Adolf Asiimwe and Garang Garang.

In their final 4 games they play 2  of the top 6 teams (UPDF Tomahawks and Victoria University)

All the teams above have already qualified, and if any meets the other in the playoffs, there is no underdog.

The final seeding will be very crucial and give the competition in the league, there will be very many upsets.

Sommet will take on Victoria University on Wednesday 30th, in a game that is expected to deliver fireworks.

Victoria University will be back in action on Friday against Rezlife Saints in another game that is expected to be a thriller.
