Buddo Mystiques won their third consecutive game after defeating Amazon Rhinos 61-47 on Saturday 2nd November at YMCA.

This victory meant that Buddo completed a double against Amazon having won their first meeting 51-38.

Buddo led 16-9 after the first quarter but Amazon 11-8 to make it a 3-point game at halftime.

In the final 5 minutes of the second quarter, only 2 field goals were scored, one for either team and this showed how poor both teams were offensively.

Buddo established a 15-point lead after starting the third quarter 14-5 but Amazon closed with a 7-0 run in the final 2 minutes of the quarter and it was a 10-point lead for Buddo heading into the fourth.

Buddo still looked like the better side in the fourth quarter and they managed to seal out the victory 61-47.

Buddo cleaned the boards more and this was a key recipe in their victory.

They had 11 more rebounds (57-46) and Sheira Nabbanda came up huge with 21 rebounds.

Amazon Rhinos played their final regular season game and they have finished with an 11-9 record.

They will be finishing either 4th of 5th and will most likely take on Legends in the quarter-finals of the playoffs.

Buddo have won 3 consecutive games but given the walkovers they handed out, it will very hard for them to make the final 8.

However, if they keep winning, there’s still a chance.

They take on Watoto next on Sunday, 3rd November, and will close out the regular season the following weekend with back-to-back games against Nkumba Lady Marines and Angels.1
