We take a look at the some of the new signings/transfers and how they performed in their debuts for their new teams.

Who impress you the most?

Lydia Anyanzwa (aka Orlando) made her debut for Angels. She last played in A1 Challenge last season and thing was her first NBL game in a long time.

She registered 6 rebounds and 3 steals in 16 minutes as Angels fell to UPDF Lady Tomahawks 58-46.

Shamiah Namujju was among those who were on the A1 Challenge team for thr season.

However, due to their troubles, she was among those that were released and joined Angels.

She made her debut against UPDF and recorded 4 points, 9 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal in 15 minutes.

Veteran Atulinda Moreen made her debut for UPDF Lady Tomahawks in their win against Angels.

She played 5 games for the Magic Stormers in the first round and averaged 8.4 minutes per game.

In her first outing with the Lady Tomahawks, she registered 12 rebounds, 6 points, 3 assists, 1 steal and 1 block in 27 minutes.

She also had the largest +/- in the game and will definitely help the army side.

Joshua Maiba made a switch from Rezlife Saints to Victoria Crocs and was impactful in his debut.

He was in the starting 5 for Victoria against JKL Dolphins and despite playing just 11 minutes, he was very productive.

He finished with 7 points, 6 rebounds and 1 steal.

Asiku Dickson made his debut for Livingstone after his switch from the Kampala Rockets.

He played 34 minutes but was 0-9 from the field despite scoring 6 free throws.

Dickson also added 4 rebounds and 1 steals to his statistics.

Point guard Gideon Kasasa joined his former Coach, Jjuko Daniel at Kampala Rockets after his move from the Rezlife Saints.

He was in the starting 5 for the Rockets but played just 11 minutes, mostly in the first and final quarter.

He registered 2 points and 1 steal.

Micheal Ssekibenga also came with Gideon from Rezlife and was  in the starting 5.

He played under 7 minutes and did not score, rebound or assist but made 2 turnovers.

Hon Kuany moved from Sommet to KIU Titans and was very productive on his debut against the Kampala Rockets.

He played all 40 minutes and registered 14 points, 11 rebounds, 5 blocks, 2 steals and 1 assist.

Despite being on the Magic Stormers team list from the start of the season, Kur Ajah had not featured yet and she made her debut against Nabisunsa.

She finished with 4 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal.

Former A1 Challenge Captain Sera Yaweh also made her debut for the KIU Rangers.

She played 16 minutes and registered 7 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steals as they faced the  Nkumba Lady Marines.

Former Namuwongo Blazers guard Chris Omanye made his debut for the Rezlife Saints in their loss to Sommet.

He played 31 minutes and registered 17 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, and 1 steal.

Perhaps the most impressive debutants was the Sommet trio who all registered double-doubles in their debut against the Rezlife Saints.

2024 season top scorer Peter Cheng registered 13 points, 10 rebounds, 1 assist and 2 steals.

The 2024 NBL best 3-point shooter Pierre Kasereka Tembo registered 14 points, 10 assists, 5 rebounds and 1 steal.

New Sommet big man, Frank Fataki registered 14 points, 14 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals and 1 block.

More players shall be joining NBL teams and it will be interesting to see who has the biggest impact.
