Tropical Royals has been one of the lukewarm teams and are fighting to avoid relegation and also make the playoffs.

The Royals were in 12th place after the first round with 5 wins and 10 losses and given that 6 teams will be relegated this season that was a concern for the team.

To start the second round, the team struggled and lost their first 2 games but have since picked up.

They have won 4 of their last 5 games and are now in 8th place but with more games played (22). Most impressively they defeated the UPDF Tomahawks 64-63 and made light work of Falcons with a 87-63 victory in a back-to-back.

Can they survive relegation?

The Tropical Royals have a very big chance of surviving if they continue with their recent form. They have also been lucky that the teams around them haven’t started the second round very well.

Falcons have lost all their 6 second round games, Kampala University has one win in 9 games, Entebbe Archers haven’t done well and have been docked points, Old Tymers and Gulu Hawks are also struggling big time.

For the Tropical Royals, they have to pray for Diamonds in the Sun to falter and hopefully one other team so that they can crawl into the top 10.

Can they make the playoffs?

Making the play offs is a very big ask for the Tropical Royals but it is not out of reach.

With news that Rezlife was docked points for 7 games that means they will definitely go down which leave a spot to be filled.

The Royals have to pray that the following teams lose games.

Entebbe Knight Riders who had acquired James Okello and Jimmy Enabu have lost 2 of their last 5 games and are on course to finishing in the playoff positions and Tropical Royals need them to lose a couple of games.

Watoto have played just one game In round two and the have an 8-8 record. This is a team that the Royals need to lose most because the records are almost similar.

The Miracle Eagles have lost 3 of their last 5 games and are in the top 8 for now.

Diamonds in the Sun has also been pushing for top 8 finish and they won their last 2 games, 70-57 and 65-53 against Kampala University and Entebbe Archers.

The battle to survive relegation and making the playoffs is an interesting one to watch and every game has significant impact.
