Makerere University men’s football team (Mak Enzymes) thrashed Kumi University, defeating them in a dominant 5:0 display at the Makerere Main Grounds in Match Day 3 of the 2024 University Football League on Sunday 27th October.
Makerere dominated from start to end and it was always going to be difficult for Kumi to get a point from the Tear gas Arena.
Amabe Humphrey broke the deadlock in the 12th minute with a tap-in after an inch perfect pass from Osuna Cosmas.
Despite launching multiple attacks in the remainder of the half, Makerere was unable to find the second and they went into the break with a 1-0 advantage.
3 minutes into the second half, Kumi’s defense gave away as Ddungu Nicholas launched a powerful strike from outside the box to find the back of the net.
The Enzymes netted their third goal 5 minutes later through midfielder Emmanuel Ekwong.
Male Musa made a through person to Ekwong who dribbled past the goalkeeper and made no mistake from inside the area.
Owomugisha Bahinguzi found the bottom right corner after a wonderful through pass from Emmanuel Ekwong to give Makerere their fourth goal.

Owomugisha Bahinguzi doubled his tally in the 77th minute after being set up by substitute Mugerwa Nick.
Makerere is now at the top of pool B with 7 points, 2 wins,1 draw, and a goal difference of 6.
The Enzymes are yet to concede a goal, and a victory in their remaining 3 group games guarantees them a spot in the next stage.
University Football League will take a break and action will resume in 2025 with the final 3 game days of the pool stages and then the knock out games.
