The UCU Canons are heading into the semifinals after blowing away the D Mark Power in the decider Game 3, of the last quarter final game.
The Canons started with a lot of fire power scoring 23 points in the first quarter.

Power on the other hand started very poorly with only 2 points in the first 7 minutes and only 8 in the whole first quarter.
Despite Power putting up more points in the second quarter, the Canons lead increased to 27 after outscoring Power by 12 points.
The worst was yet to come for Power as the Canons led with 37 points, 4 minutes left in the game. Power however went on an 8:0 run to close the quarter making it a 29 point game.
The momentum was now with power and they scored 11 unanswered points to start the fourth quarter.

Despite attempts to make a comeback, Power were in a bit of rush trying to shoot from deep and the shots didn’t seem to fall. Their foul situation did not help them either as they kept sending UCU to the line. The Canons had 14 Free throw attempts in the fourth quarter alone.
In a post game interview, Power Coach Timothy Odeke spoke about their performance.
“They Had much more urgency that we did, we were just catching up in second half ” about UCU. “we were playing as individuals not as a unit” he added.
Coach Nick Natuhereza also spoke about their team’s performance and preparation.
“We knew how they’d hurt us from game 1 and 2 and we tried to take it away” he said.
About their game in thr semi finals against KIU Titans, he said “We are in a good place, we just have to stay in the moment”.
The UCU Canons will play the KIU Titans in the University derby and Game 1 shall be this Friday. The coach Nick, said they will not have special preparation rather just to recover and head into game 1.
Match Stats
UCU had 30/62, 48% FG, 24/43, 55% 2P, 19/23, 82% FT while Power had 22/69, 31% FG, 13/34, 34% 2P and 15/20, 75% FT.
More of the other stats were even UCU with 46 rebounds, 14 assists and 13 steals while Power had 40 rebounds, 13 assists and 10 steals.
Peter Sifuma with yet another double double posting a game high 20 points and 12 rebounds.

Lwabaga Ibanda was also on fire putting up 18 points, 4 rebounds 3 assists and 3 steals.
Abraham Isyagi (12) and Jimmy Otim (10) were also in double digits.
Puati Ozias Kikomba led the scoring for Power with 15 but despite the high scores, he missed alot of baskets in the paint.
Elvis Mpeti also was in double digits with 13 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists.
Elvis Ssentongo also posted 14 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals.
