The U16 Silverbacks made history at the 2025 U16 Afrobasket after defeating Tunisia 66-55 to finish 5th.
Shane Kwizera
He was Uganda’s top scorer, averaging 13.8 points.
Shane scored double digits in 4 of the 5 games at the tournament.
His best performance was against Tunisia in the 5-6 playoff were he registered 16 points, 8 rebounds, 7 assists and 2 steals.
He averaged 13.8 points, 6.2 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 2.4 steals.

Pierre Laurent Rwuhiriro
This was the best big man for Uganda and he impacted heavily.
He was the only player for Uganda to average 10+ rebounds with 10.8.
His best performance came in the most crucial game against Guinea where he dropped 13 points, 19 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals.
He averaged 8 points, 10.8 rebounds, and 2.2 blocks.

Shammah Kwizera
He carried the team against Guinea with a tournament high 14 assists.
Additionally, he had 10 rebounds, 3 steals and 2 points.
Shammah averaged 5 points, 5.4 rebounds, 5.6 assists and 3.6 steals.

Shyaka Evans Rugare
Rugare showed up in the final game with 24 points including 5 3-point shots made.
In all the 5 games, he scored atleast 1 3-point shot.
Shyaka averaged 11.2 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.2 steals.

Lucas Ssenyonjo
Ssenyonjo was a key figure for how Uganda set up and helped a lot in that wing position.
He averaged 4.6 points, 4.8 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.2 steals.
Joshua Bwakanda
Bwakanda started strong, registering a double double, 11 points and 10 rebounds in the first game against Cameroon.
He missed the game against Guinea but despite that, he was among the top performers for the Silverbacks.
Joshua averaged 6.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 1.5 steals.
Mark Rugaaju
Rugaaju averaged 3 points and 4.8 rebounds in the 5 games.
