The KCCA Leopards registered their 7th consecutive victory after easing past Angels with a 74-35 victory on Wednesday 14th at YMCA.
Initially, the Leopards were supposed to play the JKL Lady Dolphins but due to the untimely death of Jonathan Obukunyang, who was a colleague at JKL, they requested that the game be pushed.
In the first half, it was all KCCA.
Angels scored just 10 points while KCCA scored 38 and took a 28-point lead into the halftime break.
In the third quarter, Angels changed a lot offensively.
They scored 3 3-point shots, all from Joan Namatovu who scored 11 in the quarter.
Angels were fortunate that the KCCA offense dwindled as they made 7 turnovers and missed 5 of 6 free throws.
The Leopards’ field goal conversion also plummeted and as a result, Angels took the quarter 16-12, but they still had a long way to go.
KCCA took over again in the fourth quarter and Angels had no response, losing the game 74-35.

Angels have finished the first round with a 2-8 record.
With that walkover victory against UCU Lady Canons in the bag, it’s very hard to see them getting relegated.
A chance to make the playoffs is very open but they will need to get some huge wins in the second round to make this a reality.
The KCCA Leopards have now won 7 straight games and are in the number one position with an 8-1 record.
They will face the JKL Lady Dolphins next on Saturday 17th at Abja Park.
A win in that game will make them finish the first round as the number one team while a defeat could potentially push them up to number 3.
