The Miami Heat are in high spirits ahead of Game 4 of the NBA Finals as they host the Denver Nuggets in what is thought of by many as a “Do or Die” fixture. The question on everyone’s mind is, can they protect home court?
Following a dissatisfying Game 3 loss on home court that dampened the spirit of the fans, leaving the Arena half empty towards the end of the final quarter, the Heat look to correct their mistakes, put on a show, even the series and give their fans something to smile about.
2 time MVP Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray made history in game 3 being the first teammates to each drop 30 point triple doubles in an NBA Finals game. The duo seemed unstoppable more so in the front court registering
The notion that making Jokic a primary scorer would limit his involvement of teammates was shunned in game 3 after him dominated on both ends of the floor.
This thus left many asserting that limiting Murray would instead be the better option. As from game 2 Miami victory, Murray who averages 27 points per game in the post season was limited to only 18. This shows that, taking out Murray who has been Denver’s second man could potentially reduce on their offense and perhaps hive Miami the victory.

The 3 point shooting has been a huge component of Miami’s success or failure in this post season. In all their wins this post season, the Heat has shot better from the 3 point line and struggled in all their losses.
Miami attempted 35 3 point shots in Game 3 and only managed to make 11, a 31.4% . In Game 2 however, Miami hit 17 3 point shots with 48.6%. This shows that, for Miami to increase their chances, their 3 point percentage needs to improve greatly as it has been a key ingredient to their success.
The Heat also needs to come out for a dog fight more so in terms of rebounds. The Nuggets outscored the Heat by 25 rebounds in game 3 as opposed to 7 in Game 2 when the got the victory.
Bam Adebayo has been very aggressive in the series averaging 23 PPG and 13 RPG. Miami’s star Player Jimmy Player has averaged 20.7 PPG has been low compared to the expectations. The heat need their star player to step up more so Caleb Martin, Max Struss and Duncan Robinson.
