Our Savior Banyabo comfortably defeated Nkumba Lady Marines 60-23 in game 7 to emerge as the Champions of the 2024 FUBA Division One Season.

Banyabo trailed in the series 2-0 but won 3 straight to take the lead, and everyone thought they’d close it out in game 6, but Nkumba forced a decider.

In game 6, Melissa Kyazze and Shalom Jairah were both on fire, and most people expected them to carry the same performance forward, but to the dismay of many, they ‘did not turn up’.

Shalom had 0 points and 7 turnovers in the 21 minutes she played, and the coach did not play her in the whole fourth quarter.

Kyazze scored just 5 points and they all came in the first half.

Our Savior came into this game with energy and a sense of urgency.  They were working overtime on defense and this made them get easy points in transition.

Banyabo limited Nkumba to just 3 points in the first quarter and 9 in the second.

The situation became worse for Nkumba in the second quarter, they kept making turnover after turnover and Our Savior capitalized.

To put this into perspective, Our Savior had 81 field goal attempts, 29 more than Nkumba and this came from the turnovers.

Nkumba registered 47 turnovers and Our Savior scored 34 points from turnovers.

In the end, Banyabo cruised to a very comfortable victory and will start life in the NBL in March.
