Another day, another win for the Namuwongo Blazers, and this time around, the Kampala Rockets were the culprits, losing 41-74.
Namuwongo came as the most in-form team this season, and a game against the Kampala Rockets, who had won 3 games in a row, was expected to be a big test for them.
However, it turned out to be another easy win for them and their defense was on full display.
Namuwongo set the tone in the first half as they led 37-20.
To start the game, Namuwongo scored on 7 of their 8 possessions and led the game 15-2 after less than 4 minutes.
This was a sign of what a long night the Rockets would have, but they soon slowed down the Namuwongo-based side.
The Blazers scored just 5 points in the next 5 minutes but still led the game 20-11 after the first quarter.
The start to the second quarter was good by the Blazers.
They made a 10-2 run to gain a 17-point lead and gain a firm grip on the game.
This game was over as a contest midway through the third quarter after Namuwongo had increased their lead to 25 points.
The Rockets couldn’t find their footing in the fourth quarter. They scored just 6 points and the game ended 74-41.
The Kampala Rockets have scored less than 50 points in 3 of their 6 games and they have all been defeats.
This is a problem that the coaches need to find a solution for as soon as possible.
For the first time this season, the Namuwongo Blazers have scored less than 80 points.
