The opening weekend of the 2025 FUBA Division Two season saw most of the games being very close with the competition levels very high.

5 games were in action and in 4 of those, only 1 game had a difference of more than 10 points.

Kampala University opened the season with a 56-53 victory against Governors.

Governors outscored Kampala University 17-10 in the third quarter to take a 4-point lead but the University side turned things around in the fourth.

They outscored Governors 17-10 in the final quarter, with a 10-1 run to start that quarter.

Tut Nyang led the scoring with 16 points while Emmanuel Odong registered a double-double, 10 points, and 18 rebounds for Kampala University.

Kuol Mading had a team-high 14 points while Bol Atem and Austin Kamugisha each scored 11 for Governors.

Makindye Shooters defeated Vegetarian 78-70 but the difference for them was the first quarter.

They outscored Vegetarian 31-15 in the first period and even though Vegetarian cut the deficit to 2 points in the fourth quarter, the Shooters were able to see the game through.

Fahad Shaban was on fire, as he registered 23 points and 4 assists.

Kjn Nyuon worked on both ends of the floora nd he finished with 16 points, 23 rebounds and 3 blocks.

Tresor Tambwe also registered a double-double, 11 points and 12 rebounds.

Jackson Kulubya led the scoring for Vegetarian with 25 points while Enock Lubangankene played 40 minutes and registered 19 points and 14 rebounds.

Godfrey Musinguzi dropped 4 3-point shots and finished with 17 points.

In another very excitingly close game, Emperors edged Berkeley 65-57.

Ayok Ayiek Natto registered a hugw double-double, 12 points and 18 rebounds while William Serunkeera (13 points) and William Kibalama (11) both scor3d double digits for Emperors.

Joel Matabaro led scoring for Berkeley with 14 points, Noah Kalibala with 12 while Marks Mugisha scored 10.

After a bad start to the game, Metha Phenoms recovered and registered a 57-51 win over Entebbe Archers.

Phenoms scored just 8 points in the first quarter but outscored Archers 33-20 in the next 2 quarters which gave them an edge in the game.

Isaac Ssekyewa led scoring for Metha Phenoms with 12 points with Joseph Echabu and Tim Jessy Mugerwa each bagging 10 points.

Amos Emongio was the most productive player on the court as he picked 21 rebounds while scoring 18 points for the Archers.

The ‘blowout’ of the week was Old Tymers 56-41 Falcons.

Falcons did not start and close the game well as they combined for 16 points in the first and fourth quarters.

Jonathan Lubangankene scored 15 points while Aaron Rachkara (11) and Brian Bua (10) also reached double digits for the Old Tymers.

Falcons had just 6 players available on the day and Benjamin Bonza had a team-high 13 points and 9 rebounds.

Douglas Uwizera and Kigongo Treasure each dropped 9 points.
