The Namuwongo Blazers received over 100 million from different people after winning the NBL Championship.

Namuwongo sealed the deal in game 6, winning the game 68-55, and taking the series 4-2.

This victory meant that the City Oilers, who had won 10 championship in a row, had been finally dethroned.

With this, there was a lot of excitement and amidst all this, some people decided to reward the Blazers.

Their CEO, Daniel Muttu, gave the team 10 million shillings.

Simon Mwebaze, from Cornerstone Asset Management had promised the Blazers 10 million shillings and he delivered cash to the team in the locker room.

He also promised that their organization would be among the sponsors of the Namuwongo Blazers in the 2026 season.

Finally, the Namuwongo Blazers president and Samanga Solutions CEO, George Ladsen Nkya, who was celebrating his birthday on the same day, gave the big speech.

“I could not have asked for a better birthday gift. I’ve been privileged to get many birthday gifts in my lifetime but this is the best of them all” he said.

He promised the all the Namuwongo Blazers players and staff, $1000, each.

Additionally, he said that the Samanga Solutions sponsorship to the Blazers was for life.

“Our sponsorship in this team is there for life.”

Let’s assume that the Nam Blazers players and staff amount to 25 people.

25×1000×3500 = 87,500,000.

If you add 20 million, that totals to about 107,500,000 shillings.

The Namuwongo Blazers will now be heading to Nairobi, Kenya for the Elite 16.

If they reach the finals, they will become the second Ugandan team, after City Oilers, to make it to the Basketball Africa League.
