The 4th Edition of the KT Rach Women’s Basketball Tournament took place on Saturday 22nd November and it was a memorable day.
It was filled with a lot of activities but most importantly, intense and exciting basketball action on the court.
2023 Champions, Team Siima, won this year’s tournament after edging, 2024 Winners, Team Park, 22-19 in the finals.
Youngster, Angella Auma and She Cranes star, Margaret Bagaala scored valuable points for Team Siima in the Finals.
Mercy Batamuliza was also very integral as she picked huge rebounds and scored a couple of baskets.
In the third place game, Falidah Kadondi scored on the buzzer as Team Zainah defeated Team Galacticos, 19-17.
Aziida Nabayunga also hit a couple of triples and was their main offensive weapon for Team Zainah.
The semi-finals were not as competitive as anticipated.
Team Siima rolled over Team Zainah with a 16-06 victory.
Team Park made it to back-to-back finals after edging Team Galacticos, 14-09.
The Men’s game between Ugandan local players and Internationals was one of the most anticipated activities and it did not disappoint.
Team Uganda won 20-18 but a lot of action happened in those 20 minutes.
Peter Cheng let a couple of shots fly while Mark Ngobi did some damage to the Internationals.
Towards the end of the game, he went past 2 defenders and finished through contact.
His teammates were hyped and thry started to scream MVP.

Some of the events that took place were a financial literacy session led by Cecilia from HiPipo Foundation.
A wheelchair Basketball game was also on the cards and a number of fans activities.

There was also a performance from rapper Mun G which left the crowd psyched.

Another very exciting activity was the fan’s game between the JT Jaguars and the Namuwongo Blazers.
The Nam Blazers won the game 14-12 and they scored 3 3-point shots in this game.
The winning team, Team Siima, walked away with 3 million shillings.
The First runners up bagged 2 million while the third placed team took home 1 million.
The winners for the All Star Men’s game won Shs 500,000
