The Youth Africa Games have been going on for a number on days and for the first time, the 3×3 Team Uganda was in action.

The girls set off from Kampala on 14th and joined the rest of the contingent in Luanda, Angola.

On Thursday 18th, they took center stage and managed to advance to the next stage.

In their opening game, they faced Benin and managed to win that game 12-5.

Uganda started off strong, took a 5-0 lead but the energy reduced drastically.

After about 4 minutes, the girls looked tired and started to take some bad shots.

Most of them did not go in and Benin started to gather some steam.

However, the girls managed to see out the game and bag their first victory.

Anena Jovia and Apio Marion eavh scored 4 points, Brandina Kyalimpa 3 and Mwesigwa Shivan 1.

In their second game, the offense was terrible.

The girls were attempting a lot from the outside and nothing seemed tk connect.

They lost the game 8-3 to Angola and finished second in their group.

With this, they advanced to the quarter-finals and will take on Cote d’Ivoire.

The game will be on Friday 19th at 12:25 EAT.

Can they manage to advance to the semi-finals?
