With the stone city sevens behind our backs now, we take a look at which teams and player were the most impressive in the 2 day event.
The Black Pirates who were the eventual winners won all their 6 games and also showed resilience with the spectacular second half comeback against the Rhinos. They scored 26 tries, the most in the tournament.
Walukuba Barbarians caught many by surprise. The comeback victory against host Jinja Hippos changed the perspective of many fans about this team. They won all their group games and topped the table ahead of Jinja Hippos and Plascon Mongers.
Despite losing out to Pirates in the Finals, the Kobs won 5 of their 6 games and Mark Osuna’s hands were imprinted on most of their victories. He scored 7 tries only 1 behind Timothy kisiga.
Tournament MVP Timothy Kisiga was the most outstanding player bring National team experience to help his side become triumphant. He scored the most tries (8) including a brace in the Finale.

William Nkore was astounding with 13 conversions and 2 tries and helped his team get over the line.
Atukunda Arnold “safeboda” surely had new engine, showing blistering pace to touch down 6 times for his side.

Kateregga Daniel of the Buffaloes carried his kicking boots scoring 7 tries and 2 conversions but what the eye of most was his connection with Liam Walker. Liam scored 4 tries including 2 from cross field kicks by Daniel Kateregga.
Impis’ Henry Nsekuye was once again reliable off the boot as he scored 10 conversions and topped it off with 2 tries.
Heathen’s Aaron Ofoywroth being ever ecstatic and always doing the most for his side. he leads the top scorers with 44 points coming from 6 tries and 7 conversions.
Youngsters Allan Olango (Rhinos), Solomon Agany (Buffaloes) and Xavier Otaala were phenomenal scoring 5, 4 and 4 tries respectively.
The ladies were dominated by the Lady Cranes sides who were exceptional throughout the tournament.
16 year old Janat Nandudu scored 6 tries, the most in the ladies category and was named U21 best player.

Peace Lekuru put her body on the line for her team and added a total 5 tries.

Maimuna Nassozi not only upped her kicking game with 5 conversions, she added a whopping 4 tries making her points tally 30.
Grace Nabggala who was named MVP scored 7 conversions and was impressive defensively with big tackles.
Tinah Akello also was on fire for lady cranes 2 scoring 5 conversions and topping it off with a try.
The most outstanding moment was when Rugby Legends, Winnie Atyang, Charlotte Mudoola and Helen were up against each other. The 3 ladies played for the Uganda Cranes in the 2009 Rugby World Cup 7s in Dubai they are still going strong 14 years later.
