With the Rujumba 7s right behind our backs, we take a look back at what stood out the most during the 2 day circuit.
First and foremost, the Heathens put up a very good show, no wonder they emerged victorious. It was an all round performance from the team with contributions from every player who were playing their hearts out.

Norbert Okeny was the most standout players from the Champions side, scoring 10 tries in the circuit. He was pretty much unstoppable once he got that ball on the wing and was just flying past defenders.
Veteran Lawrence Ssebuliba was named MVP despite scoring just 2 tries and this was mostly down to the leadership, composure and tackles that he put in on the pitch.

Kato Nicholas was yet another star in the Champions side and he scored 6 tries, inclusive of the Penalty try in the Finals and got 1 conversion.
The Big man, Pius Ogena put up an MVP kind of performance for his side, KOBS. He touched down 6 times, the most for his side sending his tally to 16.
The Rhinos put up a brilliant display of Rugby and they showed that they can easily grow to become a very strong force in the 7s. That quarter final against Kobs was particularly outstanding, as they trailed 24:00 at half time, but had a big fight in them scoring 3 tries in the second half and fallong short narrowly.

Led by youngsters, Allan Olango and Shimwa Davis, who are in the National 7s set up, the Rhinos scored 22 tries but it was that man Arnold Ocen who scored the most (5) followed by Pool Kalungi with 4.
Alex Aturinda was the go to man for the Black Pirates as he scored 8 tries.
Arnold Atukunda “safeboda” put in another good shift, getting 5 tries under his belt with the most beautiful one being against the Kobs were he out sprinted Mark Osuna to touch down just before the ball went into touch.

The Plascon Mongers made the semifinals for the first time and this was mainly down to the team playing collectively as a unit.
Mark William Lukwago however was the heart and soul of his side, scoring 4 tries including that winner against the Jinja Hippos.
The Buffaloes made history as they handed the Black Pirates their first loss in the sevens circuits.
That man Aaron Tukei was the key piece for the Kyadondo based side, scoring 5 tries and 1 conversion.
Walukuba Barbarians were one of the most dominant teams despite not making the Main cup quarter finals. They scored the 2nd most tries (24), just 6 behind Black Pirates.
Ivan Bulima was their talisman as he scored 7 tries on this occasion while Bob Kawanda, the Captain scored 2 tries and 10 conversions.
