As we head into the Final circuit, there’s a lot of accolades and cash that is at stake and most certainly, a lot of teams and players will be gunning for these prizes.

Some of the tightest competition is the race for the Top try scorer award with the first four players separated by 6 tries.

Timothy Kisiga started strongly, scoring 8 tries at the Stone City 7s but was soon overtaken by teammate Arnold Atukunda who was in the lead till the Tooro 7s, with Pius Ogena closely following behind him.

Arnold Atukunda was unfortunate to get an injury on his arm during the Tooro 7s groups stages and he was ruled out for the remainder of the 7s season.

Pius Ogena on the other hand was called in for National team and that meant his tally would not bulk up anymore.

Ivan Bulima who currently leads the the pack with 31 points has been very consistent in the last 4 circuits, scoring 7 at Rujumba and Tooro, 5 at Kyadondo and 8 at Tororo.

Additionally, his teammates have been very supportive gifting him some tries in order to put him in a strong position in the standings.

Walukuba face Impis, Rhinos and Kiira Crocs in the groups and 2 of those opponents are expected to offer resistance. This could constrict the number of tries that Ivan Bulima gets and if they make it to the Main cup, the opposition will get even tougher. If the Barbarians get to Challenge cup, the opposition is expected to be more inferior and thus Bulima could blossom.

Lawrence Ssebuliba of the Heathens has had up and down performances this season. In the last four circuits, he scored just 2 at Kings Park, 8 at Tooro, 9 at Kyadondo and just 3 at Tororo.

An argument can be made that Heathens faced tough opponents at Tororo in Buffaloes, Tororo Crest and Rams and so it the amount of tries scored had to be low. This weekend however, they face Mongers, Warriors and Njeru Hurricanes who some could say are not very tough opponents.

Lawrence Ssebuliba is also the primary scorer for the Heathens with the absence of Norbert Okeny and so their is potential for him to produce a masterclass.

Timothy Kisiga is also in the discussion after scoring 11 tries in the last 2 circuits. Black Pirates has scored the most tries in the tournament so far (156), 20 more ahead of Heathens. According to this, the Pirates can hurt any opponent and if they can create opportunities for Kisiga, he has potential to score in double digits.

Additionally, the Pirates have 2 invitational sides in Elgon Wolves and Kyambogo and this could be fertile ground for Kisiga to thrive.

Two ladies, Sarah Kirabo (Avengers) and Emily Lekuru (Black Pearls) have been going head to head this whole season.

It is to be remembered that Emily Lekuru got a 6 match ban but when she returned, she was on a mission and certainly made no mistake and thus returned to the throne.

It will be a very entertaining match up more so if the 2 sides can meet themselves one more time.
