The City Oilers and Sommet will face each other in a decisive game. The winner-takes-all game 5 is set for Friday 26th at YMCA.
This will be the biggest game in Sommet’s short history and they will be coming in very motivated.
A lot of people thought that the Namuwongo Blazers would have ended the City Oilers reign in 2022 but they fell short.
Sommet now find themselves in a situation where they can eliminate the 10-time champions and make history.
Secondly, if Sommet defeat City Oilers, they will join the Namuwongo Blazers and City Oilers as the teams to have made it to the finals in their first season in the NBL.
One other important thing to note is that the Sommet boss has made the last 2 finals with the KIU Titans.
He has an opportunity to make in back-to-back-to-back finals and word has it that he is all in.
According to an inside source, he has made some big promises to the team if they can win this game 5.
Sommet won game 4 86-83 but one of their tactics was the ‘box and one defense’ where they managed to take out Chad Bowie and Fayed Baale.
Mulisho Muhammed also had great contribution defensively off the bench.
Despite playing well defensively, Sommet conceded 83 points and that shows how good the Oilers are offensively.
They have a lot of weapons at their disposal and the question is, can they get all of them firing at once?
One other thing that has disturbed the City Oilers this season has been the YMCA court. The team hasn’t had much success there.
Four of their six losses in the first round came at the YMCA court. Despite improving in the second round, their record there hasn’t been good throughout the season.
The City Oilers haven’t lost a playoff series since they came into the NBL.
Can Sommet end their run and rewrite history?
