The UMU Flames defeated the UPDF Tomahawks 58-48 in game 6 to win the series 4-2 and take the championship.

Just the day before, the Flames had won 53-51 to take a 3-2 lead in the series.

They knew that they had to get the job done and straight from the jump, they went straight to work.

UMU Flames had a wonderful first quarter which saw them lead the game 18-5.

UPDF made 11 turnovers and missed even what looked like the easy chances.

UMU made 3 3-point shots in the first quarter alone and they looked like a moving train.

The Flames started the second quarter well and extended their lead to 22 points.

However, in the final 5 minutes of the half, the Tomahawks improved on their offense and outscored UMU, 11-2 to make it 33-20 at the halftime break.

Coming into the fourth quarter, UMU led the game 48-32 but the situation became very uncomfortable sooner than expected.

They turned over the ball 5 times on their first 7 possessions. They also missed 3 free throws and this put them in a dangerous situation.

UPDF made an 8-0 run to make it an 8-point game 2 minutes into the quarter.

UMU managed to weather the Storm and but UPDF once again cut the deficit further.

They trailed by just 6 points with 4 minutes to play and one could say that the game was there for the taking for both teams.

In the next few minutes, UMU managed to make a 6-0 run to go up by 12 with just over 2 minutes to play. They then managed to hold on and win the game 58-48.

Suprisingly, the UMU Flames bench scored 0 points in game 6. The bench also did not register an assist in this game.

However, all that did not matter as they managed to win their fourth straight game to win the championship.

UMU Flames lost the first 2 games of the series but managed to win the series 4-2.

Joshua Duallo was named the MVP of the regular season and the playoffs.

He played the entire 40 minutes of the game in game 6.
