With 90 seconds left in the game, Sommet led the game by one point and Tropical Royals were on the attack.
After a missed layup, Allan Nandala is judged to have been fouled as he went for a put-back and with that, the Royals were going to have a trip to the free-throw line with a chance of taking the lead.
However, after discussion between the 2 officials, a different call was made which gave Sommet the possession.
David Angwuba, who had tried to make the initial put-back touched the rim and it was called for a goal tending.
Sommet went on to score on their next 3 possessions and won the game 61-55.
Coming into the game, both teams were fired up to secure the win but Tropical Royals needed it more to increase their chances of locking down a playoff spot.
They led after the first quarter 17-13 but Sommet engaged another gear in the second to take it 22-14 and lead the game 35-31 at halftime.
Offensive struggles for Tropical Royals persisted in the third quarter and they scored just 1 field goal in the first 5 minutes of quarter.
Sommet hadn’t capitalized as much but they scored a couple of baskets to extend their lead to 9, the highest of the game thus far.
The Royals scored 0 points in the first 3 minutes of the quarter until Allan Nandala came of the bench to provide the offensive spark.
He scored 8 points for Tropical Royals in about a minute and their confidence was greatly boosted.
Joseph Drani also hit a huge 3-point shot that brought them to within 1 point with less tham 2 minutes left.
