Miracle Eagles greatly increased their chances of making a playoff spot after winning 3 consecutive games, including a 73-62 victory against Victoria University to end their unbeaten run.

Victoria University came into the game with a 9-0 record in the second round and they were favorites to win this game but Miracle Eagles knew a victory would relieve them of some pressure.

Miracle had also convincingly won on Wednesday, 68-37 against Watoto and 71-58 against Falcons on Saturday (the previous day) and their confidence was high.

It was a closely contested first half as Victoria University took the first quarter 20-16 but Miracle Eagles took the second 13-10 and it was a 1-point game at the halftime break.

The game broke open in the third quarter as Miracle Eagles took their offense to another level, scoring 29 points while Victoria University made a couple of errors offensively and scored 19.

Victoria made 5 turnovers in the third period and Miracle Eagles managed to score 9 points from turnovers alone in that time.

The Eagles also had a very good start to the quarter as they made a 9-0 run in the first 3 minutes of the quarter.

They scored 4 of 6 3-point shot attempts and had 11/21, from the field in the third quarter.

Victoria tried to come in the fourth quarter but every time they came close, Miracle Eagles had an answer and they sealed the victory 73-62.

On Saturday 26th, Miracle Eagles defeated Falcons 71-58 in a dramatic turn of events.

Falcons led by 5 with less than 2 minutes left in the third quarter but the Eagles closed with a 7-0 run to take a 2-point lead.

In the fourth quarter, Miracle made a 13-0 run to take a 15-point lead with 3:11 left and they managed to close out the game.

After a bad start to the second round with 4 losses in 5 games, Miracle Eagles have turned the tides in their favor and have won 5 of their last 6 outings

They have a 14-12 record and a victory or two in their remaining four games will seal a playoff spot for them.

They take on Entebbe Archers next on Friday 1st November at YMCA

Falcons are yet to win a game in the second round and have already been relegated to Division Two.

They will take on Sommet next on Saturday 2nd November at YMVA and Nkumba Marines on Sunday 3rd at KIU.
