The quarter-finals of the Entebbe 7s, the first circuit of the 2024 Nile Special 7s delivered upsets all through as all the potential contenders were eliminated at the quarter-final stage.

Rhinos, who had finished day one with a perfect record, including a 12:10 victory against Pirates in their final group game,opened the day with a  thumping 21:00 victory over the Hippos.

The Walukuba Barbarians, who had also shocked Heathens with a 3:0 victory on day one, delivered once again as they eliminated Kobs with a 28:21 victory.

The Toyota Buffaloes who were the first team to defeat the Black Pirates during the 2023 7s season did not waste time as they took home a narrow 24:21 victory against the Bweyogerere based side.

Finally, the hosts, Plascon Mongers squeezed past the 2024 Nile Special Rugby Championship winners, Platinum Credit Heathens with a 21:19 victory.
