The 2025 NBL season will be tipping off on Friday 21st with 2 huge games among the title favorites, Namuwongo Blazers against City Oilers and JT Lady Jaguars against JKL Lady Dolphins.
However, amidst excitement for the start of the new season, something peculiar was noticed.
Multiple facilities will host the games, including Lugogo Indoor Arena, UCU Mukono, YMCA, ABJA Park and Rezlife Lubowa.
Lugogo and YMCA have been the perennial hosts for the NBL but in the 2024 season, some games were hosted at ABJA and this time around, UCU and Rezlife shall also host games.
The other thing that stuck out with the scheduling was the Wednesday fixtures.
On every Wednesday, 3 venues shall be hosting games at the same time from the 1 we have been accustomed to.
On Wednesday 26th and 2nd April, Lugogo Indoor, YMCA and ABJA Park shall all be hosting games at the same time.
Rezlife Lubowa, ABJA Park, and Lugogo shall host on 9th and 16th April while on 23rd, Rezlife Lubowa, YMCA and Lugogo shall be the hosts.

This distribution of game is good because it gets to draw the fans from the neighborhoods to go and watch the games.
It also makes other venues popular and many people will start getting used to these venues.
Teams shall also be able to make sure they invite fans so as to tap into the potential revenue from gate collections.
Previously, venues like YMCA and Lugogo have been being paid for but with some games going to teams’ facilities, that cost shall be eliminated.
The downside to this is that their shall be less coverage for the games.
You’ll find that most reporters/journalists prefer to be at a specific venue, neglecting the rest.
Some games shall have very few fans but its up to the clubs to make sure they get fans to be available to watch their games.
This is a step in the right direction and hopefully it shall yield revenue and new fans.
One of the biggest positives from this is the fact that the league shall take a short time and hopefully end in time for BAL Qualifiers.
