After winning the 2023 Women’s National Basketball League Championship, which is also their third, the JKL Lady Dolphins will be heading to Rwanda to participate in the FIBA Africa Women’s Basketball League 2023 Qualifiers.

In a bid to strengthen their roster, the JKL Lady Dolphins have opted for the services of 3 other stars in the NBL.

2023 NBL All Star and KIU Rangers forward Rose Mary Amaniyo is one of the three stars that the Dolphins added. Amaniyo averaged 12.3 PPG, 9.9 RPG and 1 APG and was undoubtedly the biggest player in the Rangers run to the finals.

She adds size, height, shooting and more to this already starked JKL side. Given her versatility, she can definitely change the dimension of the Dolphins more so offensively and can give them a plethora of options while attacking.

The second player is UCU guard Shakira Nanvubya. Despite missing most of the first round with injury, Shakira showed her class and experience in the second round and despite not contributing much in terms of points, she showed a lot of composure and game control when on the floor.

She will also be expected to come in at the point or shooting guard role but will most likely start on the bench and lead the second unit. She averaged 7.5 PPG, 5.2 RPG and 3.5 APG.

KCCA Center Martha Soigi is the third player to join the JKL for the tournament. Martha comes with a lot of experience, leadership and of course skill.

Given that the lady Dolphins are a bit undersized bar Taudenciah Oluoch, Becky Longom and Akello Hope. Martha will help in the paint in picking rebounds, protecting the rim and scoring from inside. Her numbers speak for themselves and in the concluded season, she averaged 14.8 PPG, 9.7 RPG and 1 APG.
