There were sour nostalgic feelings for the Hippos fans after Impis defeated the Jinja Hippos on Saturday 9th, to continue their perfect start to the season with 3 wins from 3.
Youngster Benjamin Mukisa, a senior six vacist from SMACK showed that he’s got nerves of steel after rising up to the occasion and taking the match winning penalty from 50 minutes and giving Impis a 2 point victory.

This moment happened to be similar to the Nile Special Premier League opener on 14th January when Henry Nsekuye scored a penalty to secure a 2 point win it for Impis against Jinja Hippos at the Dam Waters Rugby Grounds.
The Hippos had a chance to win the game with a final kick of the game but Maxwell Ebonga was unable to convert the penalty and ultimately Impis took the victory.

Impis (13 points) now top the table with 3 wins in 3 and are already through to the quarter-finals while Jinja Hippos have 8 points and Rhinos with 7.
The final group stage game week will be an interesting one has Rhinos, who need a bonus point victory will be hosted at the Graveyard while Jinja Hippos who also need a bonus point victory to ensure their automatic qualification will be playing Lira Bulls.

In other fixtures, Lifeguard Rams narrowly edged past Walukuba Barbarians to maintain their 100% record. They will be facing Platinum Credit Heathens in the final group fixture to determine who will be topping the group.
Toyota Buffaloes also maintained their 100% record after big win away against Elgon Wolves. They stay top of the table and the result of their final group game against the Stanbic Black Pirates will have a lot of ramifications.
Kampani’s Eagles, who are in third place will play Elgon Wolves and a victory for them could mean they await the result between Pirates and Buffaloes in order to confirm their automatic qualification.
Plascon Mongers and KCB Kobs are mathematically already through and will play each other in the final group game to determine who tops the group. The Kobs will need a bonus point victory in order to top the group but the Plascon Mongers have so far been solid and will have to defend hard.
