It was yet another day of drama as the Tooro 7s,the latest circuit of this year’s series ended yesterday.Kobs Rugby Club emerged victorious as they whitewashed Plascon Mongers 28-00 in the final.

The Kobs who had reached the finals two times before were in full force this time around and they weren’t messing around as they sought to take their first trophy home of this circuit home.
With the Heathens not having made the Main Cup and the Kobs having eliminated the Pirates in the Quarterfinal, there was always going to be one winner.
Last year’s champions, Jinja Hippos also couldn’t keep up as Kobs made very easy work of them in the semi final ending 19:05.
The Kobs couldn’t have asked for an easier final as they took on the “Twaake” boys, Plascon Mongers who had up until that point caught the eye with consistent improvement over the course of the circuit, going from finishing ninth in the first two editions,to fourth in the Rujumba 7s,and then to second in Tooro
Keeping up with the Kobs turned out to be too much of an ask as the boys in blue squeezed the Mongers from the onset, keeping them deep into their half and scoring quick tries as a result.
Pius Ogena seemed unstoppable as he powered through the Mongers defense to touch down 3 times and complete his hat trick.Joseph Aredo retained the MVP award he also took home last year as Kobs waltzed into an uncontested victory.
The result means that the Kobs now lead the overall table standings with 77 points, 3 ahead of second placed Pirates, who were only good enough to finish fifth here, with Rujumba 7s winning Heathens finishing ninth.
The gap between the Kobs and Heathens extends to 15, after the Heathens had stinker of a circuit but they’ll be looking to right the all that went wrong here and win when they host the next edition two weeks from now.

There’s a plot twist the to the shape of the National 7s as the players summoned to the National team took part in what was most likely their final circuit as they will be in camp for training.
The most likely teams to be affected include Pirates who have over 5 players and Kobs who also have a couple.
The Kobs have however missed out on their stars for most of the circuits and they have been able to cope, it is yet to be seen how the team will be affected overall. Coach Makalama is a very confident man and he’s sure that the boys he’s been introducing into the games will be able to carry the team forward. He also hopes that some of the players may not make the squad and thus will return to the club.
The Black Pearls seem invincible as they keep on just collecting trophy after trophy. They have won the last 4 circuits in a row and their opponents are yet to find a solution.

Their Coach Helen Buteme is very confident that her side will just keep getting better and better as she keeps equipping the players with more skills and tactics.
